Angel Soft Toilet Tissue

There have been a few reports of allergic reactions to Angel Soft, which are currently being discussed on Delphi Forums: Avoiding Corn.

Until this is figured out, please use extreme caution with Angel Soft toilet paper. If you suspect Angel Soft causing reactions for you, please contact the company.

The suspect rolls seem to disintegrate on use, and leave lint behind.

All toilet paper on the list is being evaluated, and Scott's 1000 sheet original toilet paper seems to be the only reaction-free toilet paper at this time.

Please stay tuned for any future developments.

(Also, please leave comments if you too are reacting to Angel Soft)

Gaaahhh. That would explain things as I just switched to angel soft after roomate complained about my other tp that I'd been using for ever without problems.

Angel Soft is definitely a problem. It took awhile to figure it out, as I would stock up during a sale and I just got to the "bad" stuff. I switched to Scotts basic, and all is well now.

Just found your site - and just wanted to say that I too have had reactions to angel soft. No more getting what's on sale...

I thought I was imagining this - but I definitely react to Angel Soft. Bought twice on sale and both times...

OMG! It was torture when I used Angel Soft for the first time. The doctor was shocked at the irritation it caused.

I am now wondering if my boys are having a reaction to the Angel Soft TP. They have been complaining about itchyness for about 2 weeks. This happened after I used a different TP then went back to Angel Soft. Wow I really had no clue how much stuff could have corn.
I thought I was doing good, but I think I have a lot of changes to do.

I'm so glad i'm not the only one! my mom and dad had no reaction, but i was miserable with angel soft. ended up using tissues instead. I wonder what's causing it.

I switched to Scott's Naturals and it falls apart, leaving pieces behind and I got my first UTI of my entire life. Was miserable! Switched back to regular scott's. UGH.

It has taken a while to figure out this is related to the toilet tissue, but the evidence points to Angel Soft. Soreness and irritation develops, mostly rectally. I had switched to Cottonelle for a while, but switched back because I forgot (out of sight, out of mind) and this problem flared up again. I now have to take back some packs to the store, because I had stocked up. It's awful. I am in pain now as I type.

Apparently Angel Soft is having the same problem. I went for a month, itchiness, then it got so worse that I went to the doc. He said yeast and UTI, gave me the one tablet prescription for the yeast infection along with antibiotics and another one tablet yeast prescription for when I finished the antibiotic. The itchiness eased up, and it never was around my vagina, always around my urethra. It has been getting worse again and I finally though, look on the Angel Soft package for ingredients, NOTHING listed! Rinsing with water after I urinate does not create any itchiness, only when I use the Angel Soft. I looked up irritation and Angel Soft, this was the first site listed, and, VIOLA! Wish I would of thought of this over a month ago when I was so irritated that I had scabs. I know that sounds terrible, but it was really that bad! Thank ya'll!!!

I bought Angel Soft a couple of days ago and have had extreme vaginal itchiness. It's so bad that I have cried at one point. The only other allergy I have is to Tide detergent... Wonder if there's a correlation. Anyway, I'm so glad I found this site!

Omg!!! I was suffering from burning and itching but couldn't figure out y. Did yeast infection treatment and all was well......i thought. My toilet paper never dawned on me as the problem. I went out of town for a few days and irritation was GONE!!!!! Just got back home yesterday of course used the bathroom a few times and this morning back to irritation!!!!! Im goin to not wipe for a few days just to confirm my theory. But all signs lead to the angel soft. And its funny...i bought it on sale. Hmmmm.

Poor bf the dr thought iit was somenew form of herpes it was so bad..but he looked over no smell small discharge of yeast infection that's it bt when looked under micro it was all white cells fighting the good fight! ME TOO! Right after I purchased the Angel Soft because of the lower price, I began itching, burning & hurting in the vaginal area. Used the one-time Monistat treatment and things got better for a few days...then right back to the itching. I was using Scott but like everyone else thought I would save a little money since paper products are getting so high now. Could they be using some form of chlorine in their manufacturing process that is causing this???? Or is it really a reaction to a corn by-product as this site seems to indicate? Someone needs to notify the Dr Oz show!

So glad I found this site! Angel Soft has been causing a red, irritated rash around my anus. It also causes my hemmorhoid to flare. I didn't know what it was at first, but switched brands for awhile and it went away. Then, just recently went back to it and same flare ups and irritation again! Makes me wonder what the heck they put in this stuff!!

Wow, so glad I looked this up. I changed back to Charmin & Northern and no itching & burning. Angel Soft is horrible. I thought I was going nuts, it itched so bad, at home, never at work. I also had stocked up because I coupon. I will cease using it! So glad that's all it was!

I was burned by it too! It even cut up the inside of my nose! Bad bad stuff. I called and they WILL NOT give out the ingredients :(

I have had this same problem for three years. Tp makes so much sense. I bought the Scott brand and now I'm waiting for my skin to heal. This is is crazy!

Same deal here. I bought Angel Soft due to the sale price. I have been absolutely miserable since. Same reaction as with White Cloud brand. Back to the Charmin and will pay what ever price they charge. Never want to experience this again!!

Wow! I am so relieved that I am not the only one. And not the only one who thought it was crazy. Growing up I had issues and my parents ignored it. I broke out earlier in the year and then again recently and it dawned on me it could be the tp. I know I am allergic to dryer sheets and nickel. Up until this week I realized that my flare ups are more when I am home, not during the day as much and after I had bought the package of Angel Soft. I will no longer buy it because it's on sale.

I've had the worst reactions since using Angel Soft! My daughter and I have been itching like crazy and have had several really bad rashes and I've had my first ever yeast infection while using this brand. As far as toilet paper goes, I always just buy whatever is on sale, so it took FOREVER to find out that it was the Angel Soft. I switched laundry detergents, bought new undies, and even kept a food log before realizing it was the toilet paper! I am throwing it all away right now! Just so glad that I found this site. I almost want to leave an anonymous warning note by the display lol!

I purchased Angel Soft two days ago and it was the biggest regret ever!! It was instantaneous irritation, so I knew it couldn't have been anything but the toilet paper. Now I have to go see a doctor to find out how to relieve the itching and burning of my entire nether regions. Thanks a lot Angel Soft, I will never ever use this product again. Im sticking to regular old Scott, never ever had a problem with that. Thank you for posting this, at least I know Im not the only one!

Omg. I'm crying from the pain. I never buy Angel soft toilet paper but I sent my husband to buy toilet paper and he bought it. I was using it and my vaginal area burned and itched so bad. I finally broke down crying and told him to never buy it again. I knew it had to be the toilet paper because me and my husband no longer have sex and we don't cheat on each other. I'm miserable.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. A handful of baking soda (arm and hammer seems safe for me) in a cool/comfortable but not too warm sitz bath sometimes helps with itching and discomfort.
You could also go the "postpartum" route for a few days and use a squirt bottle to stay clean.
Good luck and feel better (everyone!)

Glad to know I'm not the only one normally only use Charmin but my dad went out and bought Angel Soft and it's the worst if feels like sand paper and left burning sensation will never use again.

I had the same problem with Angel Soft. I thought I had a rash or some other vaginal irritation. It was horrible. I went to the doctor twice and they found nothing. I changed everything from detergent to a different brand of underwear. Nothing helped. Finally, I was up crying at 2am in the morning because of the itching and irritation so I decided to google some stuff. I found a couple of sites with comments and complaints about Angel Soft so I stopped using it for two days and used the CVS brand of tissue. Lo and behold, sure enough the irritation and itching went away.

Only TP that caused a burning irritation for me is Angel Soft. My usual is Charming Ultra Soft, no problem. But I'm not aware I have a corn allergy. AS left particles behind, but I think the irritation could also have been caused by chemicals used in manufacturing process.

My mother and I both had negative reactions to Angel Soft. Horrible itching. Vagasil and Scott wipes stop the itching temporarily. Today, it dawned on me that it might be the TP. Found this site and am so relieved. Those companies should be sued!!!! Even better -- force them to use their defective products.

I am so glad to find this sight. I, too, have had problems with the Angel Soft toilet tissue. I have had horrible itching and have sores. What in the world
is in this tissue to cause such horrible problems?

OMG just read all the comment and are so disgusted with ANGEL SOFT TP... I had went in the hospital for an out patient surgery called LEEP Procedure, which they take the bad spot off your cervix called low dystplasia. 2 weeks after the surgery I started using angel soft and omg had such a rash in my vaginal area that spread to my groin area and leg could not even walk. My son took me back to the emergency room and they said I had contact dermatitis.. I have done everything I could to find out what I was allergic too,,, Talking with my boyfriend he is the one who suggested it could be the toilet paper and then I find this site with all your comments,,, This is terrible we should all sue them for this and take it off the market,,, we should have a class action law suit for everyone effected by this. My rash was so bad my skin peeled off raw,,,

I will immediately stop using this toilet paper for sure.

I totally agree. I usually don't use angel soft but it was on sale and so I decided why not. After a few uses I started getting a horrible itch. I thought maybe it was a yeast infection. I did the vagasil one day treatment and it got better. But the itch came back, I started assuming that my bf was cheating by was too uncertain to confront him. Then it just dawned on me that every time use the restroom and wipe I get uncomfortable feeling. They need to be sued and the product needs to be taken off the market

I have had the same thing happen to me. Everything is fine until I visit the same friend's house often who uses nothing but Angel Soft. Within a day of leaving, the irritation begins. I thought it could be a side affect of birth control, but I stopped taking the pill about three months ago. The irritation is still happening, so I know it has to be the toilet paper. I am so glad that I found all of these comments and that I am not the only one having these problems. I thought I was crazy!!! Quilted Northern seems to work best for me.
